Tutorial - How to install Resurrection ROM on Asus Zenfone 5 [v5.5.9 Build 7.0]. You can download this rom from end of the post. Pre-Requirement

• Resurrection ROM Zip file
• Xposed framework (for fix device storage issue)
• GApps Zip file

• TWRP Recovery Installed (Download All Requirements files from End of post)

How to Install Resurrection ROM on Zenfone 5

Step 1. Download All requirements files from end of the post and after unlocking bootloader now flash twrp recovery on the device.

Step 2. Power off your device. Press and hold Vol UP + Power till see the ASUS Logo.

Step 3. Now extract ADB on your PC and copy the downloaded new-twrp image file in ADB folder.

Step 4. Open ADB folder and Press and hold Shift button and Right Click on mouse then choose open CMD WINDOW HERE.


Step 5. Now Write below CMD to flash  TWRP Recovery on Device

• fastboot flash recovery new-twrp.img

Step 6. After Successfully flash recovery image on device. Select Reboot option from droidboot.

Step 7. After reboot Now Copy RR Rom, GApps and Xposed files to external SD card. Dont use internal storage.

Step 8. Open TWRP recovery via bootloader (Use Step 2 to open the device in the bootloader). Then select recovery option using volume and power key.

Step 9. Now Select WIPE option, then Type Yes to format the internal storage.

Step 10. Go Back and Select Install then tap on Select storage (Micro SD-Card).

Step 11. Now Select RR Rom to flash, then Select Gaaps and last one select Xposed file.

Step 12. After flash all files now select wipe caches then Reboot device.

How to Root Remix OS

1. Download RMX Tools for PC from end of post link given.
2. Extract RMXTool. Zip on your PC using WinRAR.
3. Open RMXTool folder, then double click to open RMXtools.
4. Now Click on Browser button from upper right corner and select system.img file from remix OS partition.
5. Once system.image file selected, Press Extract (system. img) button from below.
   
6. Once it shows Extract finish success, Now Press Root button (system.img) and it will prompt to select folder system_. Now Select extracted system_ folder.
   
7. Once its selected, Finally, press Repack button (system.img). And wait it finished it.
8. Once it finishes, Open Remix OS partition drive, then delete system file and rename repack to the system.
9. Now Reboot your PC, Open SuperSU Application from the menu.
10. Now SuperSU show "The SU binary needs to be updated. Continue?" Tap on Continue button and then Normal button.
11. After finishing it will ask reboot.

How to Increase Internal Storage

1. Open RMXTool.
2. Now Click on Browser button from upper right corner and select data.img file from remix OS partition.
3. Once data.image file selected, Swap left to right to expand the internal storage size.
   
4. Once you finally select new size, Just Press Expand button.
   
5. Wait it to finish it.
6. Run Remix OS and check the internal storage, from settings > Application Manager.

Resurrection Remix Features
There is lots of customization available in the RR like Screen dim timeout mode, Dim alpha, Double tap to sleep on the navbar, Navigation Bar left/Right handed mode Switch for landscape, Navbar slim dim, Button customization on navbar tiles, Animate dim, and the last one is my favorite Enable/ or disable nav bar.

TWRP Recovery
Before Installing the Custom ROM on your device. You have to flash custom recovery TWRP Touch Recovery on your Zenfone. If you are already using Custom Recovery Go to next flash step otherwise, please use this tutorial to flash TWRP Recovery on your Zenfone5/6.

How to flash Resurrection Remix Nougat Zenfone

1. First, You have to download requirements material for the device from the end of the post. 
2. Download Pico Gapps for Nougat from here and Choose x86 -> Android 7.0 -> Pico.
3. Now, From your PC copy ROM and GApps zip files and paste it in your zenfone internal storage using data cable/ or using wireless application for example: Share-it/ Super Beam.
4. Unplug your device from PC and Turn off it.
5. Reboot into recovery mode by using the Power + Volume Down button.
6. Select Wipe > Advance Wipe > check the data, dalvik cache, catch, system and swipe to wipe it.
   
7. Tap Install and find the ROM zip file and flash it
8. Similarly, flash GApps on your device.
9. After flashing, you should format old files from in the TWRP.
10. Go back and select Wipe > Advance Wipe > check the data, dalvik cache, data, internal storage (optional).
11. Now, finally Reboot your device.

Congratulation, Now you can enjoy the Android 7.0.1 Nougat Update on your Zenfone 5. First boot can take up to 5 - 10 Minutes. So, Please do not power off your device in this stage. Once the boot complete it will ask for WiFi or mobile data connection, Google Account etc. Fill all information if you want to access Play Store/ or Gmail Applications on your device. How to Install Remix OS on UEFI PC with Windows

Step 1. Download and Install
Download Remix Image for UEFI and EasyUEFI software from end of post. Then Install EasyUEFI on your PC.

Step 2. Create a fresh Partition
Now, Create a New partition atlest 10 GB and format it in fat32. Click Windows + R button, then type diskmgmt.msc and press enter button to start disk management. Now right click on any partition, then select shrink volume. Now enter the amount space to shrink 10000 then click on shrink button. Now you will get unallocated space. Right click on the unallocated space and select new simple volume and follow these instructions.

Step 3. Make Bootable flash Drive
Now Connect pen drive with PC and format it in Fat32. After format Run Remix USB Tool and Click on Browser button for the select remix image file, then click on OK button and wait for the process to complete. Dont remove the USB flash drive after process complete.

Step 4. Copy Data from flash Drive to fresh Partition
After making a bootable flash drive. Copy all folders and files from flash drive and copy in your Remix OS partition that you create on your PC.

Step 5. Run EasyUEFI on PC
After Copy All files in Remix OS Partition. Run EasyUEFI, then click on Add New Entry. Now Select type as Linux or other OS. Now Enter Name Remix OS (Or you can enter any name like android-x86) in the Description. After that, Select Remix OS partition from Target Partition menu. Now Click on Browser Button from below then click on + Button. Then double click on EFI then boots folder. Now Select Bootia32 for 32 bit Computer and select bootx64 for 64-Bit Computer then Click on OK Button. Then again OK button to save configurations.


Step 6. Reboot Your PC
Now Shutdown your PC and Turn on using Boot Menu Key (F12 Key Work for Lenovo). There you can select Remix OS. After select Remix OS it will show Guest Mode and Resident Mode.

• In Guest mode Once you reboot, you will lose all the data and installations apps from your device.
• In Resident mode, it will save the data and System Configurations for next time and it can take 5 - 10 minutes to install.

How to Install Remix OS Beta on Hard Drive

1. Download requirement files from the end of the post and Extract it using WinRAR tool.
2. Open extracted folder and Run remixos-installation-tool.
3. Now Select ISO file that you downloaded, By clicking on Browser button and select the ISO file.
   
4. Now make sure Hard Disk selected in Type.
   
5. Select Drive Partition (example C:/) where you want to install it.
   
6. From the end click on OK button and wait until the process has finished it.
7. Once its done, It will promote for Reboot.
8. Now your PC by click Reboot button or you can reboot it manually from Start Menu. It will ask for select Windows/Remix-OS. By using Keyword

Press special key (F12 for Dell, F9 for HP, F12 for Lenovo) while booting to enter boot menu and ensure that Secure Boot is disabled. Otherwise, it will be failed to boot Remix-OS.

Did you know, You can also install it on your USB flash drive (Pen-Drive) and it works for both Windows and MAC Operating System. You can convert any PC Desktop to Android as a desktop by inserting flash drive. Please Check out How to Install Remix OS for PC on flash Drive.

How to Uninstall Remix OS

If it is not compatible with your PC or other reasons to remove it. There are very simple and easy method to uninstall it.

1. Open My Computer.
2. Navigate to the Partition directory where you install remix-OS (Example C:Remix-OS).
3. Find and Run UninstallRemixOS file.
   
    
4. It will show a popup message "RemixOS is currently installed. Remove the existing version?" Click on OK button.
   
5. Wait it to finish, Once its done. All files, delete and remove boot menu option automatically from PC.

The Jide hasnt provided officially Play Store and Google Play Services Application on the remix-OS-beta due to some reason but you can install it manually. Please Check out How to install Google Play Store and Play Services.

2. Extract the downloaded package using WinRAR Tool and Open the Remix OS Installation Tool.
3. Now Press Browser button to select Remix ISO file from desktop.
   
4. Now Select Type as Hard Disk.
   
5. And, Select Drive Partition where you want to Install it.
   
6. Press Ok Button to start and wait it to finished it.
7. Once it done, Reboot your PC.

Remix OS 2.0 Download

There is multiple variant available for download. Select right variant according to your PC.

If you have a legacy support PC, you have to download Remix OS Legacy version from end of post link given.

A Second variety is a Remix for UEFI, If you are using EFI supported PC, you have to download Remix OS EFI version from the end of the post. Legacy supported ISO not working for EFI.
