How to Install Nougat update on Moto G4 Plus

1. First enable Debugging mode from settings > About  and tap the Build Number 7 times.
2. Download Nougat zip firmware file for Moto G4 Plus from below link and save it to internal memory.
   
3. Reboot Moto G4 Plus to Recovery mode by pressing and hold the Volume Down and Power Button.
4. Press Volume down once to highlight the Recovery mode option. Press Power button to select it and reboot into recovery mode.
5. Now select Apply update from the SD Card.
6. Choose the zip file you downloaded and wait to complete the installation process. For installing it can take up to 15 minutes
7. Done! Reboot your phone and enjoy.

TWRP Recovery
Before Installing the Custom ROM on your device. You have to flash custom recovery TWRP Touch Recovery on your Moto G4/G4 Plus. If you are already using Custom Recovery Go to next flash step otherwise, please use this tutorial to flash TWRP Recovery on your Moto G4 Plus.

How to flash LineageOS Nougat G4 Plus

1. First, You have to download requirements material for the device from the end of the post. 
2. Download Pico Gapps for Nougat from here and Choose ARM -> Android 7.1 -> Pico.
3. Now, From your PC copy ROM and GApps zip files and paste it in your g4 internal storage using data cable/ or using wireless application for example: Share-it/ Super Beam.
4. Unplug your device from PC and Turn off it.
5. Reboot into recovery mode by using the Power + Volume Down button.
6. Select Wipe > Advance Wipe > check the data, dalvik cache, catch, system and swipe to wipe it.
   
7. Tap Install and find the ROM zip file and flash it
8. Similarly, flash GApps on your device.
9. After flashing, you should format old files from in the TWRP.
10. Go back and select Wipe > Advance Wipe > check the data, dalvik cache, data, internal storage (optional).
11. Now, finally Reboot your device.

Congratulation, Now you can enjoy the Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update on your Moto G4 Plus. First boot can take up to 5 - 10 Minutes. So, Please do not power off your device in this stage. Once the boot complete it will ask for WiFi or mobile data connection, Google Account etc. Fill all information if you want to access Play Store/ or Gmail Applications on your device. Pre-Requesting

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Moto G4 Plus Nougat

1. First Download and Install Moto USB Drivers on your Windows PC.
2. Second Download TWRP Recovery image file and fastboot tool on your PC.
3. Extract Fastboot tool zip file using WinRAR tool on your desktop or you can extract it where ever you want.
4. Now Copy TWRP Recovery image on the fastboot tool folder and rename it into recovery.img.
5. Now Power Off your device and Boot your device into bootloader mode by using Volume Down + Power Button.
6. Connect your device to a PC via a USB cable.
7. Open fastboot folder and press and hold shift then right click with mouse and select the open windows command here.
   
8. Type or copy below command in command windows and hit enter.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

9. Once the flashing is done, reboot your device.

How to Root Moto G4 Plus on Nougat

1. Once your TWRP Recovery installed on your device you can root your device.
2. Fist download SuperSu.zip file on your PC link given at the end of the post.
3. Copy SuperSu.zip file on your device internal storage.
4. Power Off your device.
5. Now Boot your device into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Down + Power Button at the same time.
6. Now from bootloader screen Press Volume Down key Two times and you will see Recovery mode option, press Power Button to Select TWRP Recovery Mode.
7. Once your device boot into TWRP recovery Mode Just Select Install.
8. Now Select the SuperSu.Zip in your device storage.
9. Use the Volume key to move and select using the power button. It Will take some time to Finish the Process. After that, You can Reboot your device.

How to Unroot Moto G4 Plus

1. Open SuperSU Application
2. Go to SuperSu Settings > Full unroot > Select Continue > The process will be done in few seconds.
3. After that uninstall Supersu.
4. Done
5. You can confirm your device successfully unrooted or not by using the Root Checker Application.
