The Red Devils got off to the perfect start in Jose Mourinho’s first league game in charge, with his former Chelsea charge Mata opening the scoring in the first half.

Rooney headed in a second for the visitors before IBrahimovic’s fine strike from distance sailed into the net.

Bournemouth pulled one back later on through Adam Smith, but it remained a comfortable win for United.

Video Crystal Palace 1 – 2 Manchester United 2016 FA Cup Final Highlights

Jesse Lingard scored an absolute thunderb*stard in extra-time as 10-man Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to win the FA Cup.

Substitute Lingard struck in the second half of extra-time after Antonio Valencia’s cross had been cleared by a dogged Palace defence.

Alan Pardew’s side had taken the lead through a substitute of their own when Jason Puncheon opened the scoring in the 78th minute, only for Juan Mata to equalise within a matter of moments with a deflected strike.

Chris Smalling was sent off just before the end of the first half of extra-time for a foul on Yannick Bolasie, but United struck the decisive blow to win their first trophy since the 2013 Community Shield in what could be Louis van Gaal’s final game.

Manchester United Appoints Mourinho As Coach

Jose Mourinho has signed his contract to become the new manager of Manchester United, Sky Sports News HQ can exclusively confirm.

The Portuguese put pen to paper at a central London hotel at around 5pm on Thursday to succeed Louis van Gaal as the new boss at Old Trafford.

Sky Sports News HQ exclusively broke the news after Mourinho returned home at 5.20pm with documents in his hand and a bottle of red wine, having met with Uniteds executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to complete the deal
