Kita ketahui bersama kalau Voyager1 adalah Satelit buatan manusia yang terjauh dari bumi.. Jarak Voyager1 dari bumi saat ini kurang lebih sekitar 101 Satuan Astronomi (sekitar 15 Milyar Km dari bumi).
Jika dibandingkan dengan jarak Matahari ke Pluto yang jaraknya sekitar 40 Satuan Astronomi maka dapat disimpulkan kalau Voyager1 telah memasuki ruang antar bintang!

Jadi apa sih bahan bakar Voyager 1 yang sampai sekarang belum kehabisan energi?
Ternyata Voyager 1 ini sangat irit bahan bakar, hanya bermodalkan 420 Watt yang dihasilkan generator nuklir mini dengan asupan Plutonium-238 yang hanya seukuran telur ayam. Malahan dalam kondisi standby, Voyager hanya perlu daya listrik hanya 50% dari itu (setara tiga bohlam pijar komersial). Di prediksi Voyager 1 masih tetap dapat "dihubungi" sampai tahun 2025.
